2013 Perfect Circles

Perfect Circles (2013) by Sebastian Bieniek

"Perfect Circles 2013" is the first "Perfect Circels" series, it was followed by "Perfect Circles 2014" and "Perfect Circles 2015".

The series is based on the idea of ambivalence, contradiction, the logic in the unlogic, the sense in the nonsense. All sentances and quotes used here are originally written and painted by Sebastian Bieniek. None of them is citation or from somebody else taken.

The series contains sixteen paintings of different sizes. Most of the paintings are painted on its back side, which became a mark of many artworks from the Bieniek-Text oeuvre by Sebastian Bieniek (B1EN1EK). This techic was delevolped among this series. As you see the artist made several attampts (like to cut in two, or to wrapa a part) to find a way how to express the idea of "opposite of oppsite" or ambivalence not only in the written content but also in the visable form. At the end he decided that the easiest way, just to turn the convas around is the most effective one. Since that time the "turned around canvas" is one of Bieniek's best known marks as an artist who works with text.
